Misty LakeNew Hampshire's Second Connecticut Lake in the mist.
Christmas is coming and this beautiful photograph of the Second Connecticut Lake in New Hampshire is a perfect gift for the outdoor lover in your life. This will be my first offering of fine art, outdoor photography, which will be offered in three sizes and printed on metal, which is a uniquely durable print with vibrant colors, brilliant luminescent images, and exceptional detail.
MetalPrints™ represent a new art medium for preserving photos by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. Because the image is infused into the surface and not on it, images will take on an almost magical luminescence. The ultra-hard scratch-resistant surface is waterproof/weatherproof and can be cleaned easily - just avoid direct sunlight. All prints will include a float mount hanger, which are attached to the back of the print, and float the print 1/2-inch off the wall when hung. Framed metal prints are available for an additional charge, with numerous frame styles available.
Print sizes (Height x width) and pricing (Includes shipping and tax) are as follows:
12” x 24” metal print and float mount: $175
15” x 30” metal print and float mount: $225
20” x 40” metal print and float mount: $350
All prints will be signed and numbered
I will be taking pre-orders until November 27th, with an early to mid-December arrival, just in time for Christmas. To pre-order a print, please contact me through email or my social media links.
About the photo:
Taken in October of 2024, this photograph was a mix of luck and timing. After spending several days checking this same location, we were fortunate enough to come across the lake with the early morning mist rising off the water. Jodi and I went out well before dawn and set up our hides in a beautiful mud flat, where the Connecticut River met the Second Connecticut Lake. Surrounded by fresh moose tracks, no artificial light or sound and the calls of loons and geese, we watched the sun rise with high hopes that our last morning in Northern New Hampshire would end with a moose sighting. Unfortunately, we packed up without seeing a moose but feeling lucky to have seen such an amazing sunrise. As we made our way back to town, we saw the mist rising off of the lake and quickly made our way to this spot, where I made my way down to the water just as the mist began to disappear. Initially disappointed, I arrived at the lake’s edge and to my surprise, the water was perfectly glassy and the reflection of the trees and small island danced on the water's surface as if it was a mirror. I quickly set up and took this photo and then, just as quickly as the mist began to disappear, the wind picked up and the water was covered with ripples. Just like that, within three minutes, the entire moment came and went.
If you haven’t visited my blog or website recently, I'm sure you're noticing some changes. I am in the process of updating my website (Which is a huge task!) and blog. I want my website to be about the photography I enjoy and not worry so much about making it a business. Yes, I will be offering fine art, outdoor photography for sale, but I am trying to get away from portrait photography, unless of course it is outdoor lifestyle stuff. The long and short, I want to continue to enjoy my photography and more importantly, photograph the things I want instead of worrying about trying to get clients.
If you are able, please support local artists this holiday season.
Thanks,
Dave
